Admission
& Registrant Information
Dear ToneFest Registrant:
****IMPORTANT: PLEASE
READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY****
We will not be responsible for any lost, misplaced, stolen
or damaged gear. All of your gear is YOUR responsibility.
Your registration at this event and receipt of this notice indicates that you have read, and agree to these terms.
Here is the Registration
Form.
All amps MUST be tagged with an ID sheet called the Amp Data Form.
They must remain tagged throughout the day. It identifies you as the owner and provides basic information
about your amp. Please download and print out as many copies as you need for
your equipment. If you fill it out in advance, it will save time. It will be
easier to just print the form and write in your information than to type it in
due to the formatting. Otherwise, we will have extra copies at the door,
but you will have to fill it out and have it attached to your amp(s) or cab(s)
before they can enter the TONEFest areas.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR OWN ID TAG OR LABEL ON ANYTHING ELSE YOU BRING.
Guitar cases and guitars, pedals, cables, tuners, power strips, etc. are your
responsibility throughout the entire event. Many cases and gig bags look alike.
Tag everything you bring.
***PLEASE BRING EAR
PROTECTION FOR YOURSELF!****
Location:
Faith Christian Church ¥ 303 N. Myrtle Ave. Clearwater, FL 33755 (For directions please run a Map Quest or click HERE, or send an email to nick@nickchamplin.com)
General Admission:
This year, for the special TONEfest ÒFriendsÓ event, the General Admission is FREE! We will accept donations towards the expenses of the event, which can be made at the event itself, or by using our Online Donation feature. Donations can be made by credit card or PayPal acct. by clicking HERE.
Custom BuildersÕ & VendorsÕ Exhibits:
Previously Builders and Venders were charged a fee for the rental of a table/space. Due to our ÒFriendsÓ format this year, there will be NO FEE. Builders and Vendors are welcome to bring gear just like our participants who are collectors. However, we cannot guarantee a table and space is limited. So if you have a large amount of gear you are encouraged to contact Nick@nickchamplin with any questions you may have.
Builders are welcome to send gear without being personally present. We will display your amps and be available to arrange sales between you and any interested attendees. You will be responsible for arranging for the cost of return shipping and we will be happy to re-pack and get your gear to the shipper of your choice. This service is offered without charge. However, you are free to make a donation towards expenses, if you wish.
Selling Your Gear:
Builders, venders and private owners are free to sell their amps and gear at the event. Since TONEFest is not a commercial event, per se, yet the opportunity exists for private sales to be arranged between interested parties. If you should arrange a sale for one of your amps or pieces of gear, TONEfest would like to receive a Courtesy Commission. There is no set amount and the Commission should be a Donation of your choosing.
As our event grows people know this a place to come and find that great vintage piece or custom amp theyÕve been unable to obtain through retail outlets or from the Internet. Thus TONEFest gives opportunities for private sales that otherwise would be difficult to facilitate. We would like to continue this trend and feel that itÕs a big part of the uniqueness of what we do. The Courtesy Commission helps us defray our expenses.
Load-In: (for builders w/ displays and attendees bringing several amps, etc)
Because our time is limited, please be prepared to arrive
between 8am and 9am for load in.
Admission & Gear Check-In: (for attendees with and without gear)
1. If youÕre pre-registered, sign in and pick up your nametag. If not pre-registered, you will need to fill in and pick up your nametag.
2. If you have your Amp ID/Info sheets they will be affixed to your gear at the main entrance. Otherwise you will have to fill one out at the door before you can enter the ToneFest areas. Every amp brought into ToneFest to be demoed and made available for the Amp Test Drives, MUST be properly identified with a filled out Amp Data Sheet and an appropriate color sticker prominently displayed on the amp. This must be done BEFORE the amps are brought onto the floor. EVERY piece of gear you bring into ToneFest must have your ID tag. This includes guitars, cases, cables, FX, power strips, etc.
3. Amps will be marked with colored dots indicating their availability for being moved into the isolated tryout room. Green dots indicate amps that may be Test-Driven and/or moved into the room without ownersÕ permission. Red dots indicate amps that require permission from the owner.
4. After Check-In, we will direct you to where your gear will be located. There will be some power strips, but if you have any extra, it would be helpful. Make sure they are labeled with your name. We will be grouping amps according to their wattage
AttendeeÕs With Their Own Gear:
As our habit has been in the past, we welcome attendees to
bring amps and guitars that they believe will be of interest to TONEFest. They usually consist of vintage and
custom boutique pieces. If
you have a question about bringing your gear please contact Nick at nick@nickchamplin.com.
Meet and Greet:
As soon as your gear is tagged, located and set-up, you are free to circulate, socialize, and plug into amps. Socializing, sharing information and networking is one of the founding purposes of TONEFest. Hopefully you will become reacquainted with old friends and introduced to new ones.
Amp Demos & Test Drives:
In years past there has been a formal demo for every amp. In consideration of our limited time, we will be suspending formal amp demos, with the exception of certain select pieces that may be new to TONEFest or that we wish to present again for purposes of comparison.
The amps will all be displayed on the main floor together with Vintage, Privately Owned and Custom BuildersÕ Exhibits. All amps are available for Test-Drives. Please take note of the Green/Red dot coding system. Amps may be played where they sit on the Main Floor.
We have made 3 Isolated Test-Drive Locations available:
1. The Isolated Tryout Room, located at the rear-right corner of the Main Floor.
2. The ÒBack HallÓ, where the rest rooms are located.
3.
We have 2nd Floor Rooms available and the
stairwell is located at the rear-right corner of the Main Floor, to the right
of the Isolated Tryout Room.
**Please be considerate with your volume, especially on the Main Floor, where others will be also Test-Driving amps and socializing. If you need to play loud, or there is a lot of activity on the Main Floor, please consider utilizing one of our optional Isolated Test-Drive areas.
**Please be considerate with length of time you occupy any
one amp.
Trying Guitars:
Our space is limited, so we recommend that you limit the number of guitars you bring. As you try amps with your own guitar, please have your own cord with you, plug in, play, and then move to your next amp.
Please ask permission before playing othersÕ guitars.
Clinics:
This year we are not offering clinics. However, there are always very knowledgeable people that attend, who are happy to share information.
The Registration Form CAN BE FOUND HERE.
